Hey everyone,
Today, my pool water level rose concerningly high during a rain storm and I wanted to drain water out of it to prevent overflow. I haven't had to drain water since moving here, but when I went to turn the filter valve, I noticed that the "Waste" option is blocked my ridges on the valve. Am I out of luck on this?

For what its worth, I have a DE filter.

It appears there is no pipe leading from that area of the valve.
Back up 3-5 ft and take a picture of the whole equipment pad and then also of the pipes leading from the pump to the filter.

See page 5 of the attached manual for that option. It requires that another valve be in the return line.
In the picture it is in waste position, but water has to be blocked from going to the pool when vacuuming to waste (or draining the pool through that port).

So it looks like I just don't have a waste line set up. What option(s) do I have to drain water from the pool?

Thanks for the photos. Since you have a backwash line that can act as a waste line.
You would set the valve to backwash, put on the pump and it will drain the pool.
It looks like you have a DE filter, so you would need to add DE to it after lowering the water

Thats what I was thinking. I was trying to avoid the filter if possible but it looks like I'll have to set up a waste line at some point.

I appreciate your help!
