This is my second season using a brand new nirvana heat pump, was working flawlessly until a few days ago - there are no error codes , compressor light on , fan turning on etc … but water is no longer being heated , temperature is not going up - any troubleshooting suggestions before I call Nirvana Monday?
Thank you!

Check refrigerant pressures.

Put a clamp on ammeter on compressor wires and see if it is pulling power.

Check the start capacitor for the compressor.

I’m calling them Monday to see , hopefully they don’t find a loophole to exclude it from warranty - how do I prevent it from happening again if it is the capacitor?

Compressor start capacitors are the most often failure in HPs and AC units.

They usually last more then 1 year. Usually last about 5 years.

Any idea if it’s something usually covered by warranty?
It should be.

It is an inexpensive part.

Depends if your warranty is for parts only or covers the service call.

Fingers crossed you have better luck with Nirvana then I have. Their customer service is absolutely terrible, they don't respond to tickets filed on their website and don't answer the phone. I have even had my dealer (torontopoolsupplies) trying to contact them, the only way he has even got a response is from their sales guy and I still haven't heard from him even though he said he told the guy from torontopoolsupplies he was going to get my issues dealt with. I have been trying to get them to help me since last year when I got the heater. I would check the menus on your unit if it has a display. There might be information telling you the state of the low pressure and high pressure valves of the refridgerant system.

Here are a couple pics from my Nirvana FC30

Really? I’ve called them in the past with questions when I first got it last summer and they helped me over the phone, and emailed in the fall for instructions on how to winterize and they wrote back the same day? I plan to call on Monday for a service call , I’ll let you know what happens

Please do. I'll try again if you have luck. They responded initially early last year then they just stopped. What email address are you using?
