Commercial Dolphin pool cleaners (like the Wave) better/longer lasting than residential ones?

Thinking of purchasing one of the higher end dolphin robotic pool cleaners (like the e60). But it is about the same price as the smaller commercial wave units. The wave has fewer features (like no WiFi) but am wondering if the commercial units have better motors, internal parts, etc such that they might have more longevity. I called Maytronics and did not get much of an answer. Anyone have thoughts / experience?

DFW,

I really doubt they are much different...

I don't know that for a fact, just a gut feeling.

I personally go for the cheaper, no frills units and use them until they die, and then I get another one.

The low end units clean just as well as the high end units.. In my opinion, the more you pay the less you get.

Check out this review, if you have not seen it yet..

So far I really like it and the EVO will be replacing any of my Dolphin cleaners that go bad.

Thanks,

Jim R.

It's a yellow Dolphin Sigma IMO, lacking the one feature you want : brushless motors.

Do any of the units have brushless motors?
I don't believe any in the Maytronics universe does. It'll clearly say in the specs if it does, because it's a big sales point.

Some of the new cordless robots have them, but have their own issues that are being worked out so I'm still squarely on the robot fence.

Is this build with more durable parts than the residential units such that it will have more longevity? If so, do you have any specific details on that?

DFW,

Noa Baladev is a product marketing manager at Maytronics.

I would assume he knows, so I find it telling that he did not say anything about the components being any better.. :poke:

Thanks,

Jim R.

DFW,

You are buying your robots at the wrong place..

No matter where you end up buying your robot, you should talk with Margaret at Marina Pool and Spa first..

Best pricing, free 2 day shipping and no tax.

Thanks,

Jim R.
