Hi All,
I never solved my SWG issue causing foaming. Turned it off and attempting to get pool cloudiness gone with chlorine. This is my first time in 26 years that I have to take care of the pool,. I have had a plumber out to fix leaks. A pool person out to help with education.

Today when I went out and moved the filter to backwash, a ton of water came back into the basket and my pump basket was not primed. I have attempted to prime the pump, but still get a little air in basket. The filter does come up to pressure. I am certain if I leave it go for a while, I will lose prime again as that has been happening.

I did notice that there is a VERY slight leak at one of the pump drain plugs. Would this cause the issue? I have ordered a new one but won't be here for a couple days.

Yes, a leaking drain plug can cause a suction leak. They can be sealed with a wrap or two of Teflon tape.
