How to repair loose safety cover anchor?

Where did summer go? I can’t believe it’s already time to prep for closing.

We have a safety cover anchor that has come loose (can spin it around in the concrete deck/lift it out). I’m thinking of using some kind of epoxy to stabilize it? What would be best to use?

I actually discovered the loose anchor last fall, but it still functioned fine so I didn’t bother with it then.

They are fine when they spin, so long as you can adjust the head. I'd pull mine out, hold the tube firm to adjust the nut, then pop the tube back in.

They need zero vertical strength. It's 100% horizontal force and the deck isn't moving one bit.

How large is the hole it is in? You can get anchoring epoxy at Home Depot for about $25.00 a tube. As Newdude mentioned, it may not be needed if the anchor itself stays in its socket, it is a horizontal load.

I wondered about that. It held fine over last winter.

I guess the hole is about 3/4” - 1”? There is no apparent damage to the hole or the anchor. Here’s a pic


So, just leave it alone?

Might work if the label says it is suitable for a wet environment. Like concrete, epoxies tend to swell slightly as they cure, locking the anchor in place beyond their adhesive qualities. That's why they are good for this type of application. The PC Products listed is made for this specific application, is inexpensive, but other types like you show may work as well. I've not used it, but have used other brands to anchor pool equipment on the very rare times I've done so.

I ended up doing nothing. So far the actual functionality hasn’t been affected.
