Clorox pool app

So, I’m color blind and self testing the pool water chemistry has never been an option for me since I can't "read" the color strips. I saw and bought "Clorox multi-use smart strips" which uses the camera on your phone to read a six part test strip. Has anyone tried these? I tried searching the forum but found nothing. I really hope that this is something I can do from home now!

This technology has been around for over 10 years and it still doesn’t work well. Taylor sells strips and an “imaging” system and the one person on this forum that used it wasn’t at all impressed.

Fact is, test strips are worthless and TFP puts no confidence in any test results that come from them. If you really feel that you can’t read colors (true color blindness is a very rare condition) then your next best bet is a LaMotte ColorQ. Just be warned that any digital colorimeter device needs routine calibration to ensure it is working properly and most units can only be calibrated by the manufacturer.

I can tell you first hand that they don’t work!
Before finding this site, I too was a Clorox follower. That stupid thing had me running all over the place adding this, adding that.
If you have a hard time reading colors, just grab a family member to help you out.
