Hello,
As the title states, I was outside one minute noticing the return making ripples in the pool, the next minute I have zero pressure on the sand filter gauge. I believe I have the pump is bad, but am seeking any input on the off chance I am overlooking something. The pool hums and does not throw water. Here is a summary of what I have tried:
1) Baskets were cleaned.
2) Treated it like a first time start up and followed the instructions for bleeding air.
3) Ensured water is in the pump basket.
4) Ensured water is in all hoses.
5) Removed the motor cover and ensured I could manually turn the "rod" (forgive my lack of proper terminology). It rotates with ease.
6) Plugged in the motor and manually turned the rod (to check if the starting capacitor was an issue). It freely turns, but does not begin throwing water.
7) Switched outlets.
8) Checked breakers.
Still only humming.
In my mind, I do not know of anything I can check.
To be transparent:
I use a 100 ft extension cord with the same gauge as the pump cord, but have since the pool was opened (early July).
It is hot and sunny here in New Hampshire.
This is not a case of it being turned on for the first time.
Further, it is brand spanking new...
I don't believe it is a water flow issue:
If I place the filter on "waste" or "rinse" or "backwash," the pool begins to empty.
If I lift up the basket's cover, water begins flowing aggressively.
Any help would be great! Thanks in advance!
Kind Regards,
Matt
