Tile strip

My tile strip keeps falling out. Do these need to be glued in? Also are these strips universal? I found tile strips on Amazon but I’m not sure if they will work for my pool. Has anyone had any luck with them?

I have a gunite pool with a cantilever concrete deck.

The cantilevered expansion joint gap is often left open.

Nothing is universal with pools. Usually those strips are press fit in. Moisture needs to be able to drain around the strips.
