How much DE should I replace after draining my filter?

I had a leak and changed the seals in my motor, when I drain my filter how much DE would you say I lost? All I did was let the water run out naturally. New start up for the season and I’m trying not to take filter apart and start all over, it normally takes 4lbs. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Likely not much more than a handful came out with the water. No way to tell, actually without opening the filter.
Do yourself a favor and get one of the wands below and use it to completely clean the DE from the filter. That's what it was designed to do. Just keep spraying with it until the water runs very clear.
Its a bit pricey (and I could never figure out why), but well worth it. I've used my two to clean virtually every type filter there is.
