Cap for union?

I've just upgraded to a Hayward pump and sand filter and am trying to find a solution to cap off a separated union that would connect to the discharge port of the multiport valve. On my prior Intex sand filter, there was a removable, screw-on cap that fit over the discharge port and I simply fabricated a PVC connector that used a threaded nut to secure my discharge hose to the port. Worked great and the cap prevented water gushing out of the discharge port when I needed to change the valve position.

The Hayward has a female, threaded port and I was hoping to achieve something similar by attaching a threaded union (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00N4SVYQY/ref=sw_img_1?smid=A37BF8YYW3IKG6&psc=1) but I still need a way to cap the end when the hose isn't attached (half of the union would stay connected to the discharge hose). Does anyone make a cap that would be compatible with the large threads of the union?
