Algae Spots when Opening Pool

For the first time in ten years when opening my pool, I have several large patches of green algae growing on the sides and bottom of my vinly liner pool. The water is very clear but there are these spots that are about 2ft/2ft in several different areas. I have SLAMMED the pool today three times over the course of the day and wanted to get thoughts on what to do about algae spots. I did notice that the liquid chlorine must have killed some of it as it is much more sparse and thinned out. However, there are several patches remaining and I didn't know if I should brush them, vacuum them or just let the chlorine do its thing over a few days. I do have the robotic, battery operated vacuum so nothing would go through the hose/filter. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
