A raft for pool maintenance

Recent heavy rains overwhelmed the trough designed to divert hillside water and dirt from falling in the pool. Walking on the narrow upper deck is risky and the water is cold. I bought this inflatable swim platform (raft, $150, Amazon) and now I'm able to access the trough in order to more easily clear it out for the next storm.

A perfect example of why you should never build a pool you can't walk around..

Yes, I totally agree! I brought that up during the design in 1988, but the landscape architect insisted. (The landscape architect was/is my wife, so....) But it does look good though.

I'm going out on a limb here, but I bet you were a tad better waltzing on the balance beam 36 years ago.
