Help me! I'm trying but failing:)

My TA is at 110 and Pool Math tells me to lower pH to 7.0-7.2 with acid and then aerate to increase pH. Do you think it's okay as is? My pH and TA have been on the higher side for a while. Pool looks good though.

Help me! I'm trying but failing:)

So I added Calcium Chloride this morning to raise my Calcium Hardness (it's been no higher than 225) and now I'd like to work on repeating the process above to lower my pH to 7.2. I love how the Pool Math tells you how much to add (thanks for pointing that out)! Can I do that after 24 hours of...

Help me! I'm trying but failing:)

I have looked up some other threads, but I am a little confused about my TA. It was at 120, so I added 54 oz of muriatic acid and it only reduced to 110. My pH went from 8 to 7.5. I added 56 oz of muriatic acid yesterday morning and the TA is now at 110. and pH at 7.5. Do I need to bring the TA...

Now that my water is so clear:) I can see the brownish stains on the bottom of my pool. Any ideas on how to remove it? It kind of looks like dirt but it doesn't budge when I brush it. Water levels are all correct now but my husband says it's been that way for a while. Thank you!

Here are my recent numbers: FC: 4.5 CC: .5 ph: 8 TA: 120 CH: 120 CYA: 60 So I realize that my chlorine level has gotten too low, so I am going to add liquid chlorine in the morning, but what else do you recommend? Pool looks pretty good otherwise, so is the total alkalinity something I need to...

Help me! I'm trying but failing:)

Just retested. The pool is looking pretty good, though I do have some dead algae lingering near the bottom every morning. I also bought the subscription to Pool Math. Can someone share how to share those results here in the thread? Here are my numbers: FC: 10 CC: .5 PH: 7.5 TA: 130 CH: 225...

Any recommendations now? Also, since I'm no longer using the floating chlorine tabs (due to high CYA), what schedule should I follow with adding liquid chlorine?

I did the OCLT last night. FC at 10 p.m. was 8.5 and was 8 this morning at 7:45 a.m.

Just re-tested my PH after the muriatic acid and it is now at 7.5. Thanks for your input. What is OCLT?

So the TA instructions on the kit say to add drops til it turns "red." Are you confirming that I can stop counting drops when the water turns bright pink? Thanks!

Thank you. Yes, this is a chlorine pool. The PH is 8.2 and CC is 5 (both tests were the pinkest pink and the darkest yellow). A couple of weeks ago when I found this site, I removed the chlorine tablets I had in the floater because Leslie's had told me the CYA was high. I've only been using...

Pool Math App getting stuck on Pool Set up

The pool math app won't progress past the Pool Setup page. It's giving me an error message that I need to add my zip code, but it is already added. I can't get past this page. Thanks!

Help me! I'm trying but failing:)

I am stuck on the Pool information page of the Pool Math app and it won't progress. Anyway, I did the tests and here is what I found: FC-11 CC-0 TC-11 CH-225 TA-140 (though it started to get pink around 12 drops (120)...does the water ever get really red or just pinkish red? CYA-80 Pool looks...

Thank you for all of your help! Are you saying that the test strips aren't accurate? The apps are very convenient:) To be honest, I'm a little intimidated by these test kits. Any encouragement?

    New from Central California

Hi there! I have a 36,000 gallon plaster pool that I am trying to maintain following the TFP system but I need to get on track before beginning. My numbers are fairly good compared to Leslie's recommendations, but this is new info for me and I'm excited to follow it!

Help me! I'm trying but failing:)

I am trying to do the TFP philosophy but can't get my water under control to start. The pool looks cloudy but pretty good otherwise. My phosphates are out of control (1710) so I added a phosphate remover and it's down to 1122 but still cloudy. My CYA is 100 and my FC is 5.93. What should be...
