    Clearing Iron stains before open?

I'm 80% sure I've got iron stains as a "ring" around where the winter water level was (stain happened 2 winters ago, I lived with it all last year as I fought my builder on other possibly related issues.) Vitamin C held against it under water for a few minutes does seem to lighten it a bit. Now...

Excessive sand in filter, 1+ years after refinish?

Had our rebuild done last June, and got the "Ansylbrite" quartz finish (the Anthony/Sylvan branding.) I've had an issue with pH drifting up from 7.6 to over 8.0 constantly ever since last season (see thread: New Plaster with pH drift but want to close) and it kept up this season, albeit slowing...

New Plaster with pH drift but want to close

I love these forums - you guys are awesome. I had a question, but searched first and viola... the answer exists from 11 years ago: Monitor pH after closing pool with new plaster? My scenario is exactly the same: new pool 3 months ago, pH goes up .4-.6 in days, it's time to close and I'm...

Using sunshine to heat pool water - cover or not?

Hi y'all, Tried to search, as I'm sure this has probably been discussed, but turned up blank: I have a smallish (13K gallon) pool with a Safety Autocover, that only gets sunshine from about 9am-3pm. My fam likes the pool water pretty warm, and clearly keeping it covered overnight helps retain...

    Travertine and auto-pool cover tracks

I've not seen a definitive answer to this one in my searches, I hope an auto-cover expert can weigh in! We are doing a refurb: coping, tile, plaster. We have an underguide-track autocover. I have competing bids from two PBs, and the one we really like wants to use a Travertine coping. However...

    Coverstar won't open sometimes

So my ~10 year old coverstar cover is being finicky this year. It closes fine (meaning the spools will wind the ropes IN) but when opening, the spools unravel the ropes, but the main drum is not turning to pull the cover in. If I don't stop the motor, the ropes become a mess as they twist on...

    Stripped? Leak around pressure gauge

I believe I have the same problem listed here - the threads of the receiving side (in other words, in the filter casing itself) are stripped. Did you find a good solution in terms of up-sizing the threads on the gauge and boring a wider hole/threads? Seems risky - but my alternative is a whole...
