So I am nearing the end of my slam I hope.

Water is getting fairly clear

, I only see Algee or dead algee when I brush the sun shelf.

Cc is between .5-1.0 next test will use the more precise measuring method.

Overnight loss seems to be in a good place levels went up overnight instead of down.

So when this mess is over I have few questions:
1. When do I balance the ph
2. When should get my salt levels correct?
3. When does the salt water generator go back on?

All of those when you’re done with the SLAM. You shoildnt even be testing anything other than FC and CC during a SLAM.

Really, if theres visible algae, you dont even need to test CC yet cause the SLAM continues until the water is clear.

Algae is only visible when I sweep. I don’t know if that counts as visible or not. The water clouds up a bit after a sweep each morning.

Pre sweep the water is fairly clear.

If your SWCG was off, this is not possible. Might indicate some testing error...

You want to SLAM once, and be done with it. Don't hurry through it or you'll just be dealing with it when it's hotter outside in the next few weeks.

You’re getting close! Poofs count as dead algae but thats still algae so keep at it.

After all 3 criteria are passed (at the same time) you can begin to let fc fall to target range for your cya & set the swcg to maintain that.
FC/CYA Levels
Once the fc level is 10ppm or lower you can then test and adjust ph if needed.
You can add salt anytime you want. Let it mix for 24hrs before turning the swcg on or you risk a slug of high salinity water zapping your swcg.
*Be sure you’re testing salt level independently and relying on the swcg’s interpretation of salt level.
Not sure what your cya is now but if that is on the lower end you can also raise it to 70ppm via the sock method once the slam is complete.

Water is looking fantastic, overnight levels are holding and cc is where it needs to be.

Before I officially close out my slam I need to know if this is black Algae or not. These spots only appear on the sun shelf and no where else.

Thanks for all of the help! Pools been filled for less then a year and this is the best I have ever seen the water! Also amazed that chlorine testing takes about 2 minutes to do. Always thought it was far more complicated.
