    You want to limit disturbance when adding water to the pool. The bucket trick keeps that water from mixing too much.

    CSI does not matter to your pool surface. Turn off tracking CSI. Add some CYA. As you will using liquid chlorine just raise it to 40 ppm for now. I would not add any baking soda, but if you like, 10 ppm TA worth will likely not hurt.
