10 Day Old IC-40 Just Went Dark

Only reason I asked was because I was mistaken and thought the cell was immediately adjacent to the heater output. Was speculating that may have been a source of a potential leak, but your pictures cleared it up and my concerns are/were unfounded.

I always assumed it was a CYA legally to ensure the flow switch will fall down and stop production when flow stops….just my theory. I’ve seen a few like that, didn’t like it but snuggled it into the groove and it sealed. Perhaps dumb luck.

Is the side that’s leaking the side nearest the heater? I see the 180 degree check and assume the heater is just the other side of that?

Backside as in the video leads me to believe the flange that is welded on the to pvc pipe has developed a leak. O-ring failure woukd present more than likely on the SWG side of the union. Pull the SWG, slip the nut back from the joint as far as you can and inspect the weld between the pipe and...

+1 it’s commonly referred to as gluing but is solvent welding. If you look inside an open fitting after it’s properly welded you can sometimes see melted pvc from the inside of the fitting that has moved during the fitting process. If it doesn’t leak pretty much immediately after...

I have also done plenty with only lubing the ring, but have found in cases where the ring doesn’t want to cooperate, lubing the groove helps hold the oring in place and assists in sealing.

The o-rings that sit in the groove have a tendency to roll out of the groove just enough to cause a leak. Lube the groove liberally and roll the o-ring into it, pressing it into place making sure it’s fully seated. Then lube the outward facing side while pressing it into the groove. It can...

Is a pool refill best option in my case?

Yes and no…the algae festers in the tank that is your filter contaminating everything in there until you remove some of it through backwashing or cart cleaning. A filter won’t stop algae from reproducing in all the water that passes through it.

Stumped with Air Bubbles from Return Jets

Often times a suction side valve leak can be masked because both valves are open. In your first pic only one side is open. It could be your main drain or your skimmer. Currently the right valve is fully open and the other is closed. If you are seeing bubbles in the current state, reverse the...

Am I dealing with POP (Pool Owner Patience) at this point?

Stay the course. Given the swamp in the first pic you’ve come light years forward. As NewDude stated it’s either at the point or very close to the point where it just takes time to pass all that water through the filter to catch the debris.

Pool Company opened pool Questions abut what they added

Can Pedro Pedro explain which way they moved PH? Up with soda ash? Down with Dry Acid? A little of each just because the sun was out and you can be billed for 5# of something? A useless piece of info as it’s stated. Good job on getting a test kit, you’ll soon have meaningful data to adjust your...

Snapped jet line and now I can't get it out

You can also try a set of long 90 degree needle nose pliers to grab on to the recessed plate in the fitting to try and spin it out.

Calcium Problem (?) and Constant High PH

We’ve got some members in your neck of the woods that can help with test kit advice. @mgtfp @AUSpool @needsajet We really need to know your calcium hardness levels to give a proper assessment on calcium. Also will need to know your CYA level to understand how low your FC level is with respect...
