    Wacky results on water test

I only use Leslies as a comparison. The pool service takes care of the pool since I'm only at the property on an intermittent basis. I'll track them down today and find out what's been going on. Still doesn't explain why the chlorinator is reporting so high.

    Wacky results on water test

I just got to my pool in SW Florida. 4 weeks ago it was broadly fine, although the salt was low. According to Leslie's it was around 2800ppm. I cleaned my Intellichlor. My pool service, who are generally very good, added a couple of bags of salt and said the chlorine was high, so knock the...

Any tricks for removing rust stains?

Interesting, seems like I need a Costco trip to pick some up. I'll provide an update on my progress.

Any tricks for removing rust stains?

After Hurricane Ian collapsed my pool enclosure into my pool, I have a few small spots on the bottom of the pool caused by rust. They're not serious, but they annoy me. My pool guy says he can remove them by pouring HCl onto them through a pipe. Not sure how he would do that in the deep end...

    Repairing a Pentair MicroBrite light

This post is a writeup of a recent repair that I made to a Pentair MicroBrite Color LED light. If you own these lights, you know that they give out excellent light but are very expensive ($400+) for what they are. So when they go bad and are out of warranty (or you didn’t qualify for warranty...

    Running 2 heat sources simultaneously

I asked this question about a year ago (Running 2 heat sources simultaneously), and realized that I omitted to give an update. My pool is in Florida and in the winter months I thought is would be handy to be able to run both the rooftop solar and the heater at the same time. My Intellitouch...

    Intellitouch i5+3 - no communications

Closing this thread, since I fixed the problem. It turned out that I had a series of issues which appear to have started from my RS-485 USB device used by nodejs-poolController. This resulted in a failed RS-485 chip on my indoor control panel, and at least one failed chip (there are two) on my...

    Microbrite light for sale <sold>

Not sure if this is allowed, however I mistakenly bought a white microbrite instead of a color one and can't return it since I opened the packaging. 100' cord. If anyone needs one, message me directly.

    Intellitouch i5+3 - no communications

It appears that an electrical issue has affected my control board's ability to communicate with both my ICP and my nodejs-poolController. Somehow my RS-485 USB adapter developed a short between D+ and D- and now there is no communication between the ICP and the board, even after disconnecting...

    Running 2 heat sources simultaneously

This system is only 8 years old! It would be preferable to just be able to control everything independently and then put programming over the top. Too expensive to upgrade just for this small need, though.

    Running 2 heat sources simultaneously

I will look at that. Valve A is hardcoded to Solar, so I would have to move the actuator to Valve B. I'm not familiar with feature circuits, so will have to do some digging.
