So, I have now had this for 3 weeks and have sent it on about 15 missions. All missions have been recorded using time lapse video so that I am able to track its coverage and behavior.
let's start with the good:
1- I like it size. It small and fits on my steps fairly good. It's easy to carry and my 5 year old granddaughter thinks its "cute"
2-In the "standard full pool" mode it cleans about 80% of floor and 75% of wall/tile
3...well that's about it for the good.
Now the bad;
1-App losses my robot every time I close it. I have to re-install the robot in the app each time I use it now. This started after I sent a not so nice email about issue # 2
2-Complete lack of support! I don't even get auto generated emails for the 6 or 7 emails /tickets I have sent. Both though the app and directly with email.
The emails have been from simple stuff like "how does expert mode work", to several about the issues with its performance...I have, as of today, not received one response at all.
3-Biggest performance issue is that in any mode other than "full pool", the thing goes around my pool until it gets to a transition (wall changing direction, steps, ext... ), where it will clean the same area until it switches to floor mode. It will literally clean the same 2ft spot on a wall for an hour or more...every time.
4-Even when it is cleaning (like in full pool mode), it goes backwards about 40% of the time. It has the sweepers under it to force the debris into the vacuum slot when going forward, but when going backwards, it would seem that these same sweepers would push the debris away from the vacuum slot?? Not 100% sure about that though.
5-Kind of... So last week they did send me an email saying "its been 2 weeks since you received your robot, please leave us a review..." blah .blah. So, I left a review. Nicely worded with 2 stars and basically saying it has great potential but lack of customer service is why I gave it 2 stars. I have a screen shot of the review showing as "pending" but after a week, it's still not on their website. Only the 5-star reviews are (all 7 of them lol). To top it off, new ones have been posted since mine was submitted. What can you do??
