Hello! I run a commercial facility and we are getting close to our annual maintenance closure. One particular item on the list is to get the inside of all of our glass windows clean. We have some hard water staining on the inside. I have gone through many different processes in getting these clean, and I am just wondering if anyone has come across any helpful methods for this? Here are some of what we have tried:

- Barkeepers Friend and a soft pad.
- Dish soap, water, and microfiber.
- Soft pad on drill brush with glass cleaner.

Thanks for any other ideas!

No experience with that but I would try a mild muriatic acid solution in an area. If it is real glass it should be impervious to acid. Start with a 10:1 water:acid solution and make it stronger if necessary. Neutralize the area afterwards with a baking soda solution. Use PPE and safety precautions.

Let’s see what @JoyfulNoise thinks.

I use “DRIVEN Extreme Duty Glass Cleaner” for hard water spots. I buy it on Amazon. It works wonders on hard water spots.

Yup, that is an acidic cleaner.

It would be interesting to know what its pH is.

Yeah, pool water can leave behind some very tough mineral deposits. Depending on how high the windows go, a decent electric pressure washer with the soap container filled with a mixture of of vinegar, water, and dish soap (just a few drops) and a foam sprayer head can do a lot of work on dissolving the hard water spots. Then just squeegee it dry with a silicone blade. Towels and clothes tend to leave lots of streaks.
