I posted a couple days ago. We had 6” of rain (more than I orginally thought) over the course of 2 hours. Roads in my area were washed out with dirt, which made me feel a little better about the dirt that also washed into my pool. We’re working on a fix to prevent that again but in the mean time, how do I get all of the fine dirt and dust off the bottom?
Three days ago I couldn’t see the bottom. The water is now clear, but there is a bunch of dirt on the bottom. The pool blaster vacuum either glides right over it or spits it out (even with added filtration (their ultra fine mesh, plus a skimmer sock, plus polyfill)). Standard pool vacuum glides over it or, I suspect, it’s too fine for the filter to catch. Bought the Aiper scuba s1 but amongst its other issues (separate rant) it also glides over the fine dirt or just kicks it up.
To be clear, this is not an algae problem, this is simply fine dirt settled on the bottom and sides/hopper. I can easily brush up with a brush which is why it’s so frustrating that none of these pool vacuums can disturb it. Is DE added to the sand filter my only option at this point and to keep brushing? Do you think a kreepy krauly style vacuum would work better?
TIA
