First - Merry Christmas to all!
This is a hard one to explain. We have a 24,000 gal. in-ground plaster pool, with SWG, heat pump/chiller and gas heater. All equipment is Jandy. To this end, we have 3 variable speed Jandy pumps (each are the Jandy ePump VSP 2.7 hp) - (1) the main filter pump for the pool/spa, runs most of the time; (2) a pump dedicated to a rock waterfall; and (3) a pump dedicated to water features, like bubblers and laminar jets. We also have a Jandy iAquaLink/PDA to control everything.
The iAquaLink has a "Freeze Protect" feature, which is setup to run all of the pumps when the air temp gets to 36 degrees to keep water moving. Most of the time, it works fine. The main pool/spa pump (Pump 1) is what I'm having some weird issues with. The "Freeze Protect" is designed to automatically switch from pool mode to spa mode every 20 minutes (to keep water moving in both the pool and spa when it is freezing). But, two times this has happened now (last about two weeks ago) - when in goes into "Freeze Protect" mode, it starts fine for a few hours. But, then some time during the middle of the night/early morning, the pool/spa pump acts up - the iAqauLink says that all 3 pumps are on and running (through the little "I" info screen on the iPhone app), but pump 1 for the pool/spa says it is at 0 rpm, and 0 watts (the two other pumps are running fine at 2,000 rpm, and about 500 watts and water is moving on the water fall and bubblers/laminars). Even though Pump 1 says it is on (but at 0 rpm and 0 watts), no water is moving on Pump 1 (I visually confirmed this). If I then power cycle the iAquaLink panel (with the circuit breaker), and it reboots, it goes back into "Freeze Protect" and it runs fine (pump 1 for pool/spa is running at 2,000 rpm and about 450 watts, with the spa/pool running fine). Last time this happened was about 2 weeks ago, and "Freeze Protect" has been running fine otherwise every night.
This sounds like some type of software issue with the iAqauLink. Any thoughts on this?
