Waxing Your Spa

Waxed?

I called Artesian.

"Yes. Carnauba wax the interior (lucite). Just use plain old carnauba wax like you use on your car."

And that affects the water balance how?

(Sigh) (Where do I plug in "carnauba wax residue" in the pool math calculator?)

Does anybody wax the interior of their spa?

No, We don't use carnauba wax, but I do use a spa cleaner product made by Brilliance spa products. Its a wipe on, wipe off liquid. Good for removing water lines.

I got my first portable resin spa in about 1982 and have never been without one. I can honestly say I have never waxed any of them.

Nope, I have only changed the water once in a year and a half. It was only empty for 5 minutes. We use it at least 5 days per week. Tub is maintained with bleach, borax and CYA.

I wax my fiberglass slide with marine boat wax and I haven't seen a problem with my chemistry.

I've owned spas for over a decade, I've never waxed any of them. I drain, clean and full every 3 months. My current spa is an Artesian Emerald that I've had for 8 years now.
