I have attached a view from our living room window. The spot marked with the red X is goiong to be the center of a very large rock waterfall, with cascading waterfalls to the sides of it, multiple levels behind the pool. We are going to illuminate the waterfall from inside the cisterns the water pumps into, but I need help lighting the waterfall area.

The second picture is an example of what it may look like, but it will be on a 30 inch bond neam wall, with the waterfall above. There will be rocks coming off the wall handing over the pool splling over, and I thought we may need lighting there.

Has anyone used LED light pucks, or strip under a waterfall rock? Any ideas on illuminating this area?

I found 2 producsts we may use, but cant get any concrete answers on how to do this.....

Hydrolume: HYDROLUMEâ„¢ 24V LED Strip Light | Diode LED

OR we thought about installing a light in the bench under the main waterfall shining UP.....Im worried that this will be a bright spot that we will see when looking at it, and don't know how much of the light will actually illuminate above the water line

EDIT:
I just found a fiber optic system....This may be my answer. Any ideas on using fiber optic?

I am on the hunt for a build that has a wonderful waterfall/slide that lit it up and did a good job! They used landscaping lights shaped like little tubes to up light everything. They were not in the water though. They were on different areas of the waterfall outside of the water flow. I will keep looking for it.

Found it!! Here is the link: New Pool w/ Falls Slide in Baton Rouge, LA - Page 13 post # 256 has it at night time! SO pretty! He is still active here so you can PM him any questions you have about his lights and such.

Thanks Kim! Sorry for the late reply to this, but I've been meaning to reply with a link to a recent post I made where I list the detailed info (and links) on the lights I used in various places. It's the last post (currently) in this thread: Waterfall light planning help

But to sum it up, for the waterfall lights, we used the low voltage Kichler 15711SS27 Underwater Lights, shown here:

I found the perfect solution to the issue....Hayward colorlogic 40 or 80 lights. Tiny LEDS pool certified dry or wet. “½” diameter LED Lighting for dynamic illumination of Water or Landscape features. ColorLogic 80 & 40 is discreet accent lighting designed to brighten hard-to-illuminate areas such as steps, decking, water features and more-allowing backyard creativity to shine.

the 80's are higher intensity. I couldnt find anything online about them, but I will update with pics when build is done. These need a driver, and are hooked up to a transformer. 100-120 each light, the drivers are around 350, and can run 5 lights. I bought 10 of the lights....Hope they work.

I just started playing with lighting my falls. So far I like this position behind the falls but when the falls are not on I can clearly see the light bulb in the pool reflection.. Still working on it. Perhaps I need a blue filter??

I've seen those flexible waterproof LED light strips used with some beautiful results.
*the LED strip or ribbon lights, NOT the rope lights.

@orthopod How did these lights work out? I am also in the process of finalize a very expensive water feature and I have no idea how to light it. I think these lights might work for me as well. Thoughts on them?
