Water in Actuator

Howdy,

A few weeks ago I replaced the diverter valve and o-rings to fix an air leak. I thought all was good until I noticed the actuator wasn't working this morning. As I was opening it up, it started working again, but I saw a good amount of water inside the actuator compartment. Is it possible for water to leak out of the valve up into the actuator? I didn't think that was possible due to gravity, but I've seen conflicting answers. The valve itself doesn't have any signs of leaking. Since it rained heavily recently and the o-ring on the top of the actuator looked a bit worn, I'm wondering if rain just leaked in. I believe it was the first heavy rain since I replaced the valve and o-rings. Should I replace this o-ring and does anyone have a part number?

Thanks,
Rand

Yes, the water pressure flowing through the diverter valve can push water up through the stem O ring.

Did you remove the actuator from on the valve and run your system for a while and look for leaks at the valve stem?

Could be. What brand and model actuator are we discussing?

Ahh, perhaps I didn't seat the o-rings properly or used the wrong ones. My actuator says CVA-24 by Compool, but I can't find a model number. I manually moved the valve a few times... but without the pump on, so I'll need to try again.

Edit: the label was intact on the other one, which is labeled 263045.
