What is the active ingredient in dishwasher detergent for cleaning pool filters?
I'm trying to determine if it's worth it to buy TSP vs dishwasher detergent. There are some extreme price differences.

Generally, any cleaner that allows you to soak cartridges or grids overnight seems to work well, even Leslie's brand. HTH, Leisure Time, Natural Chemistry are all good brands. Filbur, a cartridge manufacturer makes one as well. The important thing is to get the oils out of filter media.
