Walmart Extended warranty worth it for Coleman pool?

I'm getting a 22ft pool tomorrow, and the warranty seems reasonable. The 3 yr is $44, and 4 yr is $66. I read about liners tearing and so forth, but didn't know if the warranty would cover it. Seems $44 is a decent price to pay for a $500 pool to replace it.

I'm adding an intex sand pump and salt system, I will be adding a skimmer as well. I also didn't know if modifications void it. Does it cover rusting? Is it voided with a salt water system?

I bought an 18-ft Coleman pool 2 years ago and the metal posts rusted completely through all the way around the top on the vertical posts and the horizontal posts rested all at the bottom and where they connect completely through this is a pool that I literally used Maybe five times in 2 years other than getting it and cleaning it and all I did when I was in it was lay on a raft I don't have kids I don't have anybody that would have created any damage or excess water on it and that's all it lasted and Coleman or Bestway is who the warranty is with wouldn't do anything about it 2 years was all I had it when this happened so I don't know if the extended warranty will cover that or not but I wouldn't recommend the pool unless you plan on having to replace it in 2 years or

Extended warranties rarely pay for themselves, but are a big money maker for companies who sell them.

For any warranty you can possibly buy, it takes a couple if years not buying any and you are ahead of the game when the first (refrigerator?) dies early and you have to replace it. Between 6 vehicles, 3 full sets of appliances, boatloads of electronics, etc etc etc, I'm up $20k or more. As much as it would suck to replace an almost new $1200 washing machine, I'm still in a better place.

Our homeowners insurance had an electronics coverage for $125 a year or so, and we even dropped the cell phone insurances, paying almost twice that much per device.
