I'm looking to change over to a 60 sq ft Hayward DE filter (from a sand filter) and I see 2 offerings.
The W3DE6020 and the DE6020 Vertical Grid.
I'm assuming the filtering would be similar since they're both 60 sq ft.
The only difference I'm seeing is the shape of the filter with the Vertical Grid being taller and skinnier.

I'm wondering if Hayward offers 2 shapes for those equipment pads that wouldn't have the room for the wider one.
Or am I missing something?

Welcome to the forum!

Honestly have not seen any posts on converting a sand filter to a DE filter.

Let's see if this bump gets you some responses.

They are the same filter, the pictures online are wrong. The DE6020 is Hayward's "EXPERT LINE products are only available through your local pool professional." (Quote from their website). The W3DE6020 is available through retail outlets.

Why the change from sand? You may not like the increased maintenance and mess.

All modern DE filters are "vertical grid." They all pretty much use the same grids when the same size filter is compared.
