I got a new Pentair Superflo variable speed pump this spring. Forecast is calling for lows around 34-35 degrees tonight and tomorrow night. Pool is still open. Do I need to run my pump at night if lows are going to be around 34-35 degrees or do I only need to run it if lows are going to be 32 degrees or below? If I should run the pump at night because of 34-35 degree weather, how many RPMs should I run the pump at? I currently run it during the day at 1800 RPM but I wasn't sure if I could continue running it at that low of a speed if my primary purpose was preventing freeze damage.

I dont close my pool and my freeze protection kicks on around 36 degrees and runs at my normal low speed (~1,300 RPMs). That protects me for temps down into the 20's and even teens some nights.
