I have a delta uv rh51-800-95u ballast that keeps going bad. Instead of buying the expensive weatherproof 1 can I just go to my local Home Improvement center and buy a ballast and put it in a weatherproof box?

Is this an indoor or outdoor pool? If outdoor, you do not need a UV device. The sun provides all the UV you need.
