I'm sure this has been posted a million times (I'm a light lurker to these forums and the TFP method) but just wanted to make sure I confirm before I go changing my pool chemistry:
I just had a fiberglass inground pool installed, and the installer told me a story about one of his clients maintaining a FC level of 10 and it damaged the fiberglass surface within a few months. That didn't make a ton of sense to me, but I'm assuming its completely safe to use the TFP recommendations of a 70-ish CYA, 8-ish FC for a fiberglass pool with a SWG? I'm assuming his client didn't monitor PH or something and that caused the surface damage.
Was also wondering what some of you set your SWG output to? Maybe models are different but I've been trying to get my chlorine count up (its only at 2ppm, as that's what my pool installer recommended) I bumped my SWG from a 2 to a 6 over the past couple days and its still pretty low. I do not have an enclosure, decent amount of leaves/pollen fall in daily, and I'm in FL. Just wondering if my situation is normal. No issues with the water, crystal clear.
Some more info: I've got an Intelliflo Pro3 VSF pump, runs at about 30% 24/7.
