Uncaged pool with too many leaves... any good automatic cleaner option?

Our pool is over 20 years old and now the small oak tree next to it is massive. When the tree starts dropping leaves (and acorns), the skimmer basket may need to get dumped twice a day and lots of manual leaf fishing happens with the pool net. Below is a normal picture of what we wake up to.

Is there any good leaf specific automatic cleaner that would work with so much debris? My pool does not have a side wall drain option, it only has a skimmer drain and main drain.

My dolphin nautilus cc with the mesh basket is what I deploy for leafy times. It holds quite a bit
Other times I use the fine filter basket in it.
I do scoop big chunks out.
May need to run it more than once a day if its a daily occurrence. Mine is in automation mode & runs every day at 9am.
Are you running the pump all the time? If not you may need to at least increase run time some to help catch more debris in the skimmer before it settles during this time.
Also may be time for a little tree trimming.

I agree with this. Unless you would hate the look, trim back that overhanging tree. I ruthlessly removed several trees that were dumping into my pool. In my yard, you would never know that they had been there and it looks fine.

I have always been resistant to tree or or even shrub trimming for fear of harming the plant and removing shade but after a couple tornadic events, run ins with widow makers and a root taking out a water line I have become ruthless! They gots to go! It always ends up looking so much better. Its definitely an ongoing struggle with an older home and very mature trees all around. I have 1 very large nuttle oak - the ugliest oak there is in my opinion & they planted it very close to the house for some reason.
I can’t wait for it to go. It’s leaves are small but there’s alot & the tannins make stains quickly. Hopefully we’ll be able to afford to have it totally removed in the next couple years. Until then we try to keep it trimmed up.
