typical lifespan of a circupool core-55 cell?

C,

In general, for most brands of cells, they last 5 to 7 years...

Curious, since I do not have a CircuPool SWCG, how does it go about asking for a replacement??

Also.. A SWCG needs to be rated for at least 2 x the volume of your pool. So in your case, you are well on the small size, but they don't make them much bigger.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Tell us what's going with the cell. How are you testing water? Many folks that claim to have a problem with the SWG actually have a chemistry problem.

Sorry, its a status light on the Core-55.
"Cell Life Low"
From their website:
This LED may flash when the cell is nearing the end of its lifepsan (based on usage time tracked). This occurs when cell operating hours are high.
No troubleshooting is required. The Cell can continue to be used until a solid error light occurs, but enough operation has occurred that you should consider purchasing a replacement cell in order to be prepared.

Mine never had the blinking stage and just went straight to solid on.

And I definitely have a chemistry problem that I am working through, but for me to work through it, I have to have the SWG on full speed for extended amounts of time.
I am using the Taylor testing kit and I have cloudy water, low CYA (being shipped now, got quick dissolve), and slightly low PH.

First generation Core model. You can read the status lights in the pic:

What % do you run the cell for how many hours/day?

Full tilt for 24/7 right now until I can get this chemistry situation under control.
What did you run it for the last year?

What chemistry situation? That idiot light does not effect the cell generation.

It's been a rental house for a year and the neighbor said they never did anything with the pool, so it sat and didn't run at all that I know of.
I am going to keep running it for now. I am moving back into that house now that my kids are moved out so I am getting the pool back in shape.
All the chemicals are out of whack right now. low (almost none) CYA, slightly low PH, cloudy water where you can't see the bottom. It is slowly coming back from the past week of brushing and vacuuming.

Anything ever happen with this? I have a Core55 as well and at just over 1 year I have a solid red light on the controller stating Cell Life Low. I run the SWG at 50% on a 20k gallon pool for 10 hours a day, chemistry has been solid the entire time.
