Turning spa into cold plunge

I'm thinking about turning my spa into a cold plunge. Spa about 750 gallons. Looking at the TC-1000 by aquacal. I'm thinking I would just put it in spa mode without the heater and it should work fine. My question is how quick would it be able to lower say from 95 to 50? My concern is if it takes a long time, I'm not circulating my pool then for that amount of time. I can't find anything on their website except this unit should be able to make "cold plunge" temp up to 3000 gallons.

Thought?

Looks like the TC 1000 is rated at 73,000 btu. Your example case is for a 45 degree temperature change. Here’s what an online calculator estimates. IMG_8213.jpeg

Interesting idea. I’m in the DFW area and the heater never gets any action - I doubt it even works any longer. I cover the pool and spa during the winter. I have a Glacier chiller and almost chose an Aquacal, but I was concerned about the cost to run it. Had I considered also using it to make my spa a cold plunge pool, that might have changed my mind.

BTW, if you also chill your pool, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by just how cold an 82° pool feels when it’s 100°+. I never tire of that initial shock when diving in.
