Because one of the pipes on my sand filter multiport valve cracked over the winter, I need to replace the unit. I have the new Pentair unit but my problem is disconnecting the old PVC piping. The top pipe I freed but I have to rotate the pipe with the fitting since the fitting doesn't seem to rotate around the piping. The bottom pipe/fitting is not turning at all, in spite of efforts with a large channel lock wrench and silicon spray. Ideas?
Many thanks

You can't move those fittings, they are glued to the pipe and it must be cut. If the fitting rotated it would not just leak but probably just have the pipe pop out an spray an enormous a mount of water. The top pipe may move a bit as there is twisting that can be done with flex pipe. The bottom is rigid and will not move unless you destroy the pipe and fittings with that large Channel Lock.
