Hi all. My TropiCal heater is having issues. Sometimes it turns off by itself even though the controls are calling for heat. I have figured out that if the heater’s fan is not spinning the water is not warming. The heater has power and the screen is lit, but no heat. Any suggestions?

Check using a multimeter that the EasyTouch J19 heater relay is closing when there is a call for heat.
Check there are no error codes on the heat pump.
Check the start capacitor and contactor in the heat pump.
You need a multimeter and clamp on ammeter to look for electrical problems. If your problem is with the refrigerant system you need pressure gauges and an EPA Certification.

I replaced both capacitor and still no luck. I noticed that the fan and the compressor do not kick on. I don't now how to use a multimeter or ammeter....I think I will call the pros. Thanks for the suggestions.
