TIPS for Resurfacing a pool

I am in the process of picking a company to resurface our FL pool. So far they all seem to agree we need new coping, resurface the pool, adding a new filter (current one is too small) and we wanted to get a new tile line installed.
What tips would be members have for picking the right company? For example, it didnt sound right to me that one company said they tile over the existing tile instead of removing the existing tile first. Any other BIG red flags I should watch for?

thanks

Tell us more acout the current condition of your pool and post pics of issues. Depends if existing plaster should be chipped out, ot skimmers replaced, or lights replaced, or coping replaced.

Ask what the company you are hiring does with their employees and what they subcontract? How do they ensure the quality of the work of their subcontractors?
