Once the tarantula is fully paralyzed, the t-hawk drags it off to it's nest, injects its larvae into the tarantula's abdomen and then leaves. The larvae then feed on the tarantula while they develop until they burst forth into the world....
And you all though Ridley Scott came up with the "alien exploding from chest" thing all on his own....nope, mother nature beat him to it by a few hundred millennia and she is one sick puppy!
