My latest ph is 7.8. With a TA of 61 free chlorine is 7 and total chlorine is 7.64 with Cya of 30. I want to get rid of the combined chlorine and should I worry about the low TA? Thanks in advance
Ok here are the results from my Taylor test kit. PH 7.6, acid demand 1 to get to 7.2. TA 70, FC 3.5 and TC 3.5. CYA between 30 and 40. These original sample and this one were taken several days apart. Additional question what CYA would be optimal for here in Houston area so that I burn away minimum chlorine but don’t have to make chlorine levels crazy high to stay sanitized?
Great. TA is fine. pH is fine.
FC is fine.
Maintain your FC based on FC/CYA Levels
It appears you will be adding liquid chlorine EVERY day to sanitize during swim season. I would suggest getting the CYA to 50 ppm by mid to late May.
Hey neighbor, have you considered installing a saltwater chlorine generator (SWCG)? It's by far the cheapest, easiest, and most convenient way to chlorinate, especially for our Texas climate.
