Swimline skimmer on soft side pool.

Hello all, I ordered the swimline 8940 skimmer to install on my 20’ bestway pool. I plan to do the install and then cut method, this skimmer came with a 2-piece gasket. However, face plate has a lip on the inner edge that goes into the main body of the skimmer. Does the popular Hayward skimmer also have this lip? Want to make sure this won’t cause an issue before it’s too late!

It does yes, but having had both, save yourself the trouble and just get the hayward, the quality of the plastics and threading is so much better, the top is easier to get off as well. Our swimline skimmer only lasted one season and developed cracks along the bottom of the skimmer.

Indeed, Thanks! I did end up sending the swimline back and got the Hayward installed this weekend, easy peasy!
