i want to swap my pool timer with a GE Cync light switch so i can control the pool timer with my app and not spend alot of money on wifi type pool timers.

i can purchase a switch with or with out the nuetral wire. these are pics of my pool cb panel, and my pool pump. how would i connect the switch to the wires?

Welcome to TFP.

That GE timer is for switching a 120 volt light.

Your pool pump is wired for 240 volts.

You need to use a switch that handles 240 volts and is rated for a 1 HP motor.

Instead of the GE Cync smart switch, look at the Suraielec WiFi Pool Timer instead. There are reviews showing the wiring for 240v.

Another option is the Pentair IntelliConnect that has two relays which would replace your Intermatic timers and uses a phone app.

I used this to eliminate the ancient intermatic timer that was controlling my pool pump.

Now that I have replaced the pump with a variable speed pump, it is on all the time, so it is less useful than it was - but it was easy to install and configure and has been reliable for over a year.

did u have to buy a seperate hub to control it through the app? i have google wifi mesh system and i really wanted to keep everything under 1 app. this is why i really wanted to use those switches, but if i can find something else that i can use google with then i'll go with that. thanks for the advice though. i like it. also can i connect the polaris booster (also 240) pump to this together with the pool pump or would i have to buy another one of these?
