After a month of ground preparation, I finally set up the Summer Waves Elite 16 x 48 AGP.

Everything was going great with filling the pool until the water started to enter the skimmer opening.
A steady drip of water began to run out the bottom of the pump.

The pump is a SFX 1500 and brand new. Heck, I never even plugged it into the electrical outlet.

I have drained the pool water to below the skimmer so that I can remove the pump from the pool liner.

I have attached photos including one from the Polygroup troubleshoot page.
The second photo shows instructions as "leak from bottom of canister" .

I dread dealing with Polygroup customer service as I have read nightmare
reviews. I am concerned if I open the pump, I will void any warranty that may exist.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

Pump has started to leak again. I called Polygroup and a Tech advised putting petroleum jelly on the gasket to make it seal better. He also said I could use silicone grease.
If that does not work, he stated it might be a warped motor nut.
He stated if it still leaks, he would open a warranty claim.
This is so frustrating.

Another thing you can try is plumbers grease. Its specifically for cartridges and plumbing parts with rubber components. Hardware or big box will have it. Comes in a toothpaste like tube. Used it on all my gaskets and o rings this spring and first time opening without a leak.
