Suction side leak

Hello, To test for a suction side leak , I did a dye test in the skimmer hole with the basket lid off. I drilled a small hole in the plug and placed it into the skimmer hole. Dye did get sucked in. Then I built a pressure tester using PVC, psi gauge and spigot. I plugged the end of the suction line where it meets the pump basket and then added 30 psi of water through my tester in the skimmer. It bled down fairly quickly. I tested my tester first to make sure it had no leaks. I then dug up the pvc where it elbows up into the pump basket. no water there unfortunately. I can only guess that its leaking at the bottom of the skimmer where the pvc meets it- way down in the ground - or somewhere in between the skimmer and pump.
Is there any DIY way to pinpoint where the leak could be?

thank you
