Just did a complete replaster on my 23 year old pool and bit the bullet and replaced all of my original style Pool Valet heads. My experience with them has been very poor cleaning and they have a history of getting stuck open due to a small pebble or something of that nature. Got the new heads for $40/each so replaced all 15 of them this last week. Only thing I can say is this is something I wish I did a long time ago as they clean so much better than the old style. Since they are spring loaded they pop back into the floor and they actually index correctly to clean the floor. The way the water rolls now when cleaning moves any trash so much better than the old style. Need to be careful not to cross thread when installing but other than that I couldn't recommend them more. Great upgrade to my pool And of course I didn't replace them until I had the pool filled back up Don't make that mistake if you don't have to.
