Stenner pump not injecting chlorine with duckbill in place

I cleaned the chlorine injector like I do regularly but when I went to the pool in the morning no chlorine was getting into the pool . The stenner pump is running , I changed the duckbill check valve the tube inside the pump and made no difference. I changed the suction tube and discharge tubing and all ferrels but still no chlorine was pumping in . I have removed the duckbill check valve and now it is dosing . The system is operating at around 10 psi so it doesn’t require a duckbill but would like to have it installed for piece of mind . Does anyone have any idea why it doesn’t dose with the duckbill installed?

Is this is what you have...they can get clogged with salt. Mine clogs about every two years. How did you clean it?
Remove the tube and use a small philips head screw driver to remove deposits.
You can also soak in a mild acidic solution. (Vinegar, warm water with a bit of dish soap.
You can also replace it.

The injector have been cleaned , I cleaned it like I always do by putting a screw driver down it . I’ve had the injector out and it is completely clear . It just won’t dose with the duckbill installed

Try getting a new duckbill. Maybe this ones just old and stiffened up?

Also take a look at the pump rollers. Are they completely extended so they are properly compressing the tube? Are they rotating at the same rpm as the motor shaft?

I have changed the duckbill
You installed a new injector?

Turn the pump off and remove the tube from the injector. Put the end of the tube in a bucket and turn on the pump. If it pumps, it is a bad injector.

If it does not pump, then you likely have salt residue in the pickup, or the lines. OR, the santoprene tubes in the pump have failed.

I got rid of my duckbills within a few months of using acid and chlorine (now retired) stenner pumps. Like yours, they tended to clog up.

For peace of mind (backflow protector) and easy to view flow checking, install these instead:

Make sure you get the right one for your tube size: 3/8” or 1/4”
