Static electricity?

Has anyone ever experience static electricity (not electrical shock) from the pool and the surrounding deck? The past couple days we will randomly get a static zap when touching the pool water and the surrounding metal chairs (not every time but pretty frequently). We can't figure out any correlations and we made sure the pool pump and house is grounded. Again it's static electricity and not an electrical shock. We are totally at a loss of what could be going on so if anyone has any sort of direction it would be most appropriated!!

Welcome to TFP :)

If it really is a static zap.. It could be just low humidity, how is the weather lately.. :)

Low humidity will always get shocks in the winter... I run a humidifier for this exact reason all winter...

I had the static electricity zap whenever I got off my patio furniture, Sunbrella fabric cushions, and then bent down to get the pool water sample. I was initially concerned until after getting off my patio furniture and then touching anything I got a zap. Surprisingly, when I touched the hose bib valve, when I moved some rocks around. Then I tested something, I got off the furniture then got zapped touching the hose bib then nothing when I touched the water.

If I walked directly out of the house and got my pool water sample I wasn't zapped. So for me, it was static from my patio furniture.
