Stain and scale prevent by Natural chemistry

I try not to talk with the pool store about my pool but I was caling to see about purchasing a new module for our pop ups as after 6 yrs the gears aren't turning that well, maybe due to calcium and pool store got me a little intrigued about this product, "Stain and scale prevent" by Natural Chemistry, I guess created here in AZ. She said that with this product she does not have to clean her salt cell but every 3 mths and it's easy to clean which makes it last longer and the calcium just wipes off of the walls. It doesn't harden. That sounds strange and I wonder what chemicals are in it but she said "all natural." I haven't done any research on it yet, but wanted to check here first. I'm guessing I'll hear that if I take the 4 minutes a day to test my pool and keep it balanced I can go years without emptying water or worrying about calcium build up but the reality is my husband has taken over the pool duties and I'm letting him (to a degree) and it's not checked daily. Is this a product that is ok to put in the pool and if it really causes the pool to not turn green as fast and extends the life of salt cells, maybe we should consider it? I was told salt cells have shot up to $1200 now! thx!

Get a water softener installed in your home if you don’t already have one and find a way to run a line out to your pool’s auto fill (that’s what I did). Once you do that, calcium hardness will no longer be as big a problem. It should be criminal in the state if AZ to build homes without a water softener. The amount of damage done to heaters and fixtures from scale build up is well worth the installation costs.

James, I posted the question on amazon. I couldn't find a pic of the back of the bottle. I guess they make a lot of different solutions. I'm not sure if the person at the pool store is fooled, too, or if she makes commission or something. She was the manager and also told us if we kept having probs with our salt cell she'd fight for an upgrade for us and if we bought our in floor manifold from her it'd be refundable even if open. My husband went to buy it today and she said not refundable if opened. hmm.

James, for the heck of it I asked them the ingredients. They said "active ingredients are proprietary.

I can tell you that it is a cationic polymer - an ingredient found in many clarifiers and flocculants." ha ha. u were right about a few things. I wonder if you have already been down this road with this particular product or others!
