We are looking to do a feature water wall like the one shown in the attached photo. Looking for some guidance.
We'd like the water to trickle down the face of the rock.
What type of stone will work best in a salt water pool?
Will these be hard to keep clean?
Will they be expensive to install?
We're looking at split face travertine or some type of stacked pebbles as seen in these links.

That design looks good but will be a maintenance and cleaning problem.

Water trickling down will leave calcium buildup and scale from evaporation over time. Stacked stone will be difficult to clean. If you must do it use smooth large porcelain tiles that are easy to clean with acid. You don’t want a lot of grout lines.

I would not build such a water feature in a residential pool.

Understand that any waterfall will cause aeration which will cause the pool pH to constantly rising which will require constant acid additions to lower the water pH. Most folks stop continuously running their water features due to the rising pH.

Water running over stone will increase the aeration. And the stone will get calcium and scale over time.
