Sta rite pool pump no producing pressure

I have a 12000 gallon in ground pool . I am new to the pool world. I disconnected a electric pool heater that had seen better days and stopped working. I then replumbed the pipes so the pump would go directly to the pool pipes (output). In doing so I did not account for back pressure or something. Now the pump gauge is producing only 3 psi. Originally, while it was hooked up to the non working heater it registered 15 psi. The filter basket is primed with no air bubbles, the skimmer is pulling water in but at a low rate than before. The jets are producing output but at a low rate. I used 1 1/2 pvc as was used in the rest of the plumbing. I’d appreciate any suggestions in solving this problem.

Generally when you go from a higher to lower pressure you will increase the flow in the system. But if you're pressure dropped 12# maybe you have a restriction on the suction side of pump. You may want to turn off pump and remove basket and reach in with fingers and see if you can feel any debri in the impeller. If there is try to remove with needle nose pliers. If not is the pump louder than before
