Am looking into the pool lighting system that will be installed as a part of the build we're having done later this summer. Our PB stocks SR Smith LED Lighting and quotes those in all their estimates, but he's fine with anything.
I plan on the pool, landscape and pavilion lighting to run on separate transformers and will connect to them using a Pentair intellicenter which I've installed at the future equipment pad location.
I'm not overly concerned with "14 million colors" etc. as the existing lighting system over our deck has that functionality and we typically find a color, set and forget.
I'm more interested in your opinion on light system quality and what would work best with our setup.
The pool will be a 16 x 36 vinyl, w/auto cover. We are going with three lights (return depth) on one side shining away from the pavilion area.

Are you using SR Smith lights for your landscape lights or another brand?

How are you going to hookup the lights to the IntelliCenter? Each light transformer connected to a high voltage relay?

Do you expect the IntelliCenter to know the light colors?

The Pentair LED lights have mixed reliability depending on the model.

We don't hear much about SR Smith LED lights. Don;t know if that is because they work well or are not being used by members.

What warranty will your builder give you on the SR Smith lights?

I’ll be using another brand for the landscape/pavilion

Yes, each transformer will be connected to a separate high voltage relay

Do you expect the IntelliCenter to know the light colors?

If I was to go with the Pentair LED, then yes. If the SR Smith (or another brand) then no, I would expect to scroll through the color choices however I could.

Which model or brand would be the most reliable?

That is my concern - Our PB seems pretty sold on their reliability. I have no reason to doubt him on that, it’s only that I would rather be able to control the on/off and/or color choice of my lighting through one device.
Also, I should mention that only the pool will have color LED’s The landscape/pavilion will be white only so the control there will be strictly on/off and scheduling.

I haven’t asked yet as I’m really more concerned with the functionality. Good question though.

Thanks for your input on this - Jeff

If Pentair I would use the Microbrites. They are nicheless and fit a 1.5" pipe and other nicheless lights can be substituted.

Consider CMP Brilliant Wonders lights...

The C-M-P solution just may do the trick for my setup. There are a couple distributors here locally. I’ll stop by and see what they have to offer.

Thanks for the assistance
